One Columbus MIXER

If you want to learn more about One Columbus, its mission, goals, objectives and programs, come to the February MIXER on Monday, February 6 at 11:00 AM in the Government Center Annex at Veterans Parkway and 10th Street.

If you can’t come and bring a friend, send somebody. We’ll welcome them too.

The One Columbus Annual Meeting will follow the MIXER at noon. Come and pick up a copy of our Report to Shareholders. Its open to the public.

 Are Hispanics Happy In Columbus?

You would be surprised at the answer. Read the notes taken at the last Dialogue Group0601-2 meeting available on our website - www.onecolumbus.org.

If you want to participate, join in the next session that will be held Tuesday, February 7, at 5:30 PM. This series runs for 3 more weeks. They meet in the Gleaners Room (Room 110) of St. Luke United Methodist Church down town. If you have not been before please call 315-0162 or call Berrien Zettler at 324-6363. You should enter St. Luke’s from 3rd Avenue.

Topic for these sessions is “Hablan espanol?” Learning to Relate to the Hispanic Community.  

You should plan to attend.

 Race Relations Breakfast next Wednesday.

The next Race Relations Breakfast meeting will be Wednesday, February 9 starting at 

7:30 a.m. at Ruth Ann's Restaurant on Veteran's Parkway.  

You should bring a friend this time.

 

 “Slavery and the Making Of America” comes to PBS on February 9th and 16th from

9:00PM to 11:00 PM. This four-part series, produced by Dante James and narrated by

Morgan Freeman, tells the story of slavery from the point of view of the enslaved. The

series recognizes the strength, humanity, and dignity of the enslaved and redefines them

as pro-active freedom fighters - not passive victims.

Watch this with a friend and discuss it afterwards.
