CORRECTION

The Community Prayer Breakfast  held on the Plaza Level of the Government Center takes place on the third Tuesday of the month in which it is scheduled. In some of our literature and publications recently, the date was listed incorrectly as April 11. The correct date is Tuesday, April 18.  (see DOWN THE ROAD below).

 

MONDAY

 

The B-R-I-D-G-E program will be featured on WTVM’s Monday night Newsleader 9 news segment beginning at 6:00 PM where Cheryl Renee interviews Willie Coleman and students in this Columbus Jobs Council project B-R-I-D-G-E gets high school dropouts back on track where they get their GED, learn pre-employment skills, and good citizenship.  Director Willie Coleman is a board member of One Columbus.

WEDNESDAY

The bi-monthly Race Relations Breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday, April 12 at Ruth Ann’s on Veterans Parkway at 10th Street and begins at 7:30 AM for an hour. First Timers are free. A donation of $5.00 is asked. 

“Black.White” series continues on FX Wednesday nights at 10:00                           The last of six episodes of “Black.White” continues the dialogue between two families as they struggle to deal with issues of race. For those who have been watching this eye-opening series, the question is “Can women deal with the race issue easier than men?”  The final episode should be worth watching.  

DOWN THE ROAD

April 18  beginning at 7:00 AM the One Columbus Community Prayer Breakfast will be held on the Plaza Level of the Government Center. These services are designed so that every denomination that wishes to participate is welcome. A representative from your house of worship would be welcome to attend.     

 

    

April 18  Dialogue Group 0603 starts Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 5:30 PM. This group will meet at St. James AME Church on the corner of 10th Street and 6th Avenue.  Look for the One Columbus sign. For details about Dialogue Groups, what they are and how they work, see our website www.onecolumbus.org. Print out the Manual for Participants and Leaders, read it, and bring it with you. May 12 The Inaugural One Columbus Golf Tournament will be held at Callaway Gardens under the leadership of Diamond Sports Marketing. Our website offers several opportunities for participation - players, sponsors, volunteers and others.

CALL FOR DIALOGUE GROUP FACILITATORS

As the number of Dialogue Groups continues to grow, we are in need of facilitators - individuals who can commit for an hour each week for a minimum of 5 weeks (after 5:00 PM) to guide a Group through some tough conversation.
