Group 0603 started last Tuesday at St. James AME
Church with Darlene Porter facilitating. There are still
openings for participants if you wish to become involved. This
group meets in the North Wing of St. James AME Church on the
corner of 10th Street and 6th Avenue.

Breakfast held at Ruth Ann’s Restaurant on Wednesday, April
26 will discuss the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
2005 marked the 40th anniversary of
the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the beginning of
debate concerning the renewal of temporary revisions that expire
in 2007. “The gains of the last 40 years will be severely
compromised if these provisions of the VRA are not protected,”
says the Leadership Conference On Civil Rights. John VanDoorn,
Assistant Professor of
Political Science who earned his B.A. in Political Science and
History from Berry College; his MA. in Political Science-
International Relations from Georgia State University and his
Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma will address the topic
“The Voting Rights Act - Implications Aound
Reauthorization”

Breakfast will be held on the Plaza Level of the
