SPECIAL APPEAL
Mentors Needed for
Wynnton’s Arts Academy
One Columbus has teamed
up with Big Brothers/Big Sisters to provide mentors for the
Arts Academy at Wynnton Elementary School. There are nearly
400 youngsters PreK through 5th grade who could use
positive adult contacts and one-on-one support in several
settings at the school. You may even get to eat lunch with
them!
Positive mentoring
experiences have proven to be an effective tool to help young
people overcome the risk factors that can lead to problems
such as educational failure, dropping out of school and
involvement in delinquent activities.
To give at least an hour
a week can pay enormous dividends to the kids, to the school,
the families involved and to the mentors themselves.
Send your name and how
best to contact you to
onecolumbus4@msn.com
or call me. After a brief orientation, you will be matched
with a child and you are on your way.
