Friday, February 23, Dialogue Group 0701

 

One Columbus will initiate its first daytime Dialogue Group on Friday, February 23, from noon to 1:30 at the Fourth Street Baptist Church.

 

The topic will be "Hidden Rules," the topic of Dr. Ruby K. Payne's talk at the One Columbus Recognition Dinner.  Recommended reading is an article by Dr. Payne entitled "Understanding and Working with Students and Adults from Poverty."  Look at the web http://homepages.wmich.edu/~ljohnson/Payne.pdf

 

Fourth Street Baptist Church is located at 222 Fifth Street. The telephone number there is 706-324-2055.  The entrance to the parking lot is on Third Avenue.  From there the entrance into the building is through the door in the glass walkway between the two buildings.  Ask for the Church Library. It's a ;'bring your own lunch' event.

Monday, February 26, E Pluribus Unum series starts

 

The kick off event for the 2007 E Pluribus Unum series will be held at the Public Library on Macon Road at 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 26.  The panel will include attorneys Trip Tomlinson and Stephen Dillard, moderated by Daron Hicks addressing the topic "The role of the Federal Judiciary under the U. S. Constitution."

The One Columbus Dialogue Group 0702 begins on Tuesday evening, February 28, at 5:30 at Holy Family Church. The topic for this group will be "Hidden Rules."
