Monday,
February 26, 2nd Annual E Pluribus Unum
series begins
One
Columbus' second year of
bringing to the
Chattahoochee
Valley
the E Pluribus Unum series
begins on Monday, February 26 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the
Public Library on
Macon Road
Of the
inaugural series last year, Dusty Nix's editorial began "One
Columbus is both a thing and an idea: It is an organization
formed as a vehicle for bringing people together, and an
idea that a true community -- if indeed it earns that term
-- weaves its different-colored, differently textured
threads together into a fabric of strength, beauty, and
common purpose.
"The U. S.
Constitution is likewise both a thing and an idea: a legal
document setting forth the prerogatives of the individual
and the limits of official authority and a philosophy of
inalienable human rights and responsibilities. "
The first of
the 2007 series addressing the topic "The role of the
Federal Judiciary under the
U. S.
Constitution" offers us a chance to clarify and
differentiate the Federal/state roles regarding our rights
and responsibilities. The distinguished panel includes
attorneys Trip Tomlinson and Stephen Dillard. Daron Hicks
will moderate.
