23 at 8:30 am on ESPN2 in
Columbus and 11:30 am
on CTVEA featuring One Columbus and the 2nd Annual One Columbus
Golf Tournament. Executive Director Ken Crooks, Secretary Ron
Hinze and Golf Tournament Chair Allen Page talk about One
Columbus and the
event.
Dialogue
Group continues at CSU Education class
On June 25,
26, 27 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Jordan Hall, students in
the EDUC 2120 Diversity class will experience the second half of
their field experience developed in a dialogue group format.
Presented by One Columbus and led by Dr. Rochelle Ripple, the
field experience can be audited by a limited number of Friends
and Board members of One Columbus. Permission to attend
required. Seating is limited.

June 27: Race Relations Breakfast
The last of the
Race Relations breakfasts until September will meet at Ruth
Ann's on 10th and
Veterans Parkway
at 7:30 am. Participant are welcome to bring topics of interest
to this session. The public is welcome. A $5.00 donation is
asked; however guests are free.

Columbus' Second Annual Golf
Tournament starts at noon at the Grand National Robert Trent
Jones golf course in
Opelika,
Alabama. The golf
event, an enjoyable and exciting sport planned and executed by
Diamond Sports Marketing, is one of many activities of One

CAD (Columbus
Against Drugs) elects new officers
Rev. Melvin
Steed, Associate Pastor, Victorious Living Chapel was elected
President of CAD on Thursday evening. CAD is a network of
organized neighborhood groups that work together with law
enforcement agencies to address the issues of drugs and crime.
There are at least 6 identified neighborhood groups that are a
part of CAD that, in conjunction with law enforcement, use Camp
Out and Check Point techniques in an effort to fight crime.
Other officers are: Vice President George Hampton; Secretary,
Bernetta Cabarris; Treasurer, Charlez Watts If you spot drugs in
your neighborhood, call 911. If you want to join CAD, call Rev.
Steed at 706-615-4017. They meet the third Thursday each month
in the Public Safety Conference Room at 6:00 pm. One
Columbus is supporting the
efforts of CAD in making
Columbus a safe and
drug-free community for all its residents.

Columbus
International Festival - Volunteers still needed
The Annual
Columbus International Festival will be held at the
Civic
Center on
Sunday, August 12, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. The festival is a
celebration of the talents and skills of the many diverse groups
that are a part of the
Chattahoochee
Valley.
Native dancing, singing, ethnic foods and displays from dozens
of countries are a part of this international experience.
Additional volunteers are needed.
