TUESDAY,
July 15, 2008 - Voting Day
The
League of Women Voters is a nonprofit, nonpartisan political
organization that encourages active involvement in the political
process and especially in the act of voting.
It sees voting as a precious right of eligible voters and
has been providing voter guides at election time for years.
They
want to "get people interested in voting and to give them
the tools to be able to make their own choices, " according
to Polly McKinney, LWV of Georgia's president.
To
make this happen, they have developed, with the Atlanta Journal
and Constitution, an online guide ajc.com/voterguide
that will walk you through the state-wide candidates that
are running , their points of view, and answers to questions
posed to them so that you can compare the candidates for whom
you will be voting. Hopefully, this will help you make informed
choices. There
really isn't any excuse for not being knowledgeable and
certainly not for voting on Tuesday.
