Wednesday,
August 27, 2008 - Race Relations Breakfast
Our
sixth in the series "My Challenges with Race" will
feature Owen Ditchfield, who was elected to
a four-year term on the Muscogee County School Board in 2000 and
has, since 1972 been a teacher in the Fort Benning School system
as an Information Specialist (librarian) at Edward A. White
Elementary School. Born in Chicago, raised in Southern
California, and after serving in the Army, married his wife
Mabel and settled in Columbus. They raised four children while
making an enormous contribution to the citizens of Columbus
South and the broader community. "Bridging
the Divide through understanding people" will be
the topic of his presentation which will include some personal
stories of racial encounters.

Dialogue Group
The First
Presbyterian Dialogue Group has returned to its regular
TUESDAY schedule addressing issues that relate to race and
diversity. This bridge building effort toward mutual
understanding begins at 6:30 pm.
Enter the church from First Avenue across from the
CB&T parking garage.
