BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENTS PLANNED

 RiverCenter sponsors two exhibits

In celebration of Black History Month, the RiverCenter has two events that will occur during the month.

The first is a photographic exhibit of the works of Charles "Teenie" Harris entitled: Rhapsody in Black and White that will be hanging in the main lobby of the RiverCenter until February 23. . The 32 piece exhibit was assembled by the August Wilson Center for African-American Culture and is on loan from Pittsburgh's Carnegie Museum of Art. This exhibit it free and viewable during the RiverCenter's normal hours.

The second is a performance by the Ronald K Brown: Evidence dance company. Ronald K. Brown worked with the August Wilson Center on the traveling exhibit and has choreographed a piece entitled One Shot (Mr. Harris' nick-name - he was famous for capturing his subjects in one shot.) which will be performed at the RiverCenter on February 17. Copies of the guide and a flyer can be obtained from the RiverCenter for civic organizations and churches who wish to help publicize this event.
