One Columbus Mentoring Program-Wynnton Arts Academy

Our plan is structured as follows:

1. We will advertise through our existing systems opportunities for mentors from the One Columbus board of directors, volunteers and Friends of One Columbus for the Arts Academy at Wynnton. 


2. We will partner with other organizations whose purpose and goals are not in conflict with those of One Columbus.
3. Persons who express interest in the program will be catalogued and after we have 6 or more they will

4. Participate in a two-hour orientation done by Big Brothers/Big Sisters during which they will be advised of BB/BS requirements for mentors.

5. Having completed the orientation, they will be issued a ONE COLUMBUS VOLUNTEERS wallet sized card with an "M" (Mentor) in the top right hand corner (so that the school will recognize those that have met Big Brothers/'Big Sisters standards) and are from One Columbus or a partnering organization.

6. Each will be asked to contribute at least 1 hour every two weeks (minimum) during the school year.

7. They will contact the school prior to reporting to Wynnton to select a mentee.


We see this an exciting opportunity for One Columbus and partnering organizations to make a significant contribution to enhance the school’s program and provide a meaningful positive addition to the health and welfare of the students involved.
